advent Worship Services

Advent is a season during which the Christian Church celebrates the coming in flesh of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The glory of Advent finds its genesis in Old Testament prophecies that point forward to the coming incarnation of Christ. The beauty of the gospel is that Abraham was promised a royal seed—and that seed is Christ. However, as the Apostle Paul explains in Galatians 3:29, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” What that means is that you are a child who has been adopted, and therefore an heir of the riches that God has promised to his people!

We are looking forward to celebrating the Season of Advent (November 28, December 5, December 12, and December 19), by incorporating into our worship services special Liturgies of Light, during which the Advent Candles will be lit.

Christmas Luncheon

Our Annual Christmas Luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 5th following our 11:00 am Worship Service.  Fellowship will be providing all the food for the luncheon this year.  After lunch we will have our 3rd annual talent show and traditional Christmas Carol Sing– Along.  Bring the whole family out for an afternoon of Christmas fun with your church family!

A needs list sign-up will be sent out prior to Thanksgiving to give us an idea of how many people to prepare for.  You may also call the church office to sign-up for the lunch.  The menu will be Honey Baked ham, cheesy potatoes, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, green bean casserole, Kings Hawaiian rolls, dessert, and drinks.

3rd annual Talent show

Our Third Annual Talent Show will be held during our upcoming Christmas Luncheon.  If you would like to share a talent that afternoon, please let Katie Brandt or Cyndi Taylor know (you don't have to be specific about the act yet).  This invitation is for any adult, youth or child.  (Note: If you plan on using music, plan on using a CD player or the actual keyboard -- the Wifi is unfortunately unreliable in the Parish Hall!!)

Christmas Cantata:

“Emmanuel Has Come!”

In recent weeks, our talented choir members have been dutifully preparing music for this year's Christmas Cantata, "Emmanuel Has Come." We hope you will join us during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday, December 12th, as we share this musical program with the PCEPC community!

Our presentation of "Emmanuel Has Come" will feature five choral settings of beloved carols and new contemporary Christmas selections, including Song of Christmas; Carol Medley; Emmanuel (Hallowed Manger Ground); Emmanuel to Me; and Christ Is Come. These inspiring pieces are arranged by some of our favorite sacred music composers, such as Chris Tomlin, Mike Speck, and Philip Keveren, and are juxtaposed with poignant Scriptural narration to encourage further meditation on the lyrics.
